Three steps
How to pay with HSA/FSA
01. Select HSA/FSA at checkout.
At checkout, select the HSA/FSA payment option. You must be logged in to Shop to use this option. You can pay with an HSA/FSA benefits card or a personal card.
02. Complete health survey and pay.
If required, you'll complete a brief health survey to confirm your purchase eligibility.
03. Receive a Letter of Medical Necessity.
A licensed provider will review your answers. If you qualify, you'll receive an LMN to support your HSA/FSA documentation. If you don't qualify, your card won't be charged.
How does this save me money?
HSA and FSA accounts hold money that comes out of your paycheck before income tax. The IRS lets you spend it on products and services that treat, mitigate or prevent a medical condition. With a Letter of Medical Necessity from a licensed provider, exercise equipment counts.
So instead of earning a dollar, paying tax on it and spending what's left, you spend the whole dollar. For most people that works out to a saving of 20 to 40%, depending on federal, state and payroll taxes. The example shows $100 of wages at a 30% effective rate.

Exercise is medicine
Why rucking gear qualifies
It is weight-bearing exercise.
Load on your back makes your bones and the muscles around your spine work harder. That is the kind of activity clinicians recommend for bone density, posture and back health.
It burns more than a walk.
Up to 2.5x the calories of walking at the same pace, with none of the impact of running. For weight management, blood pressure and blood sugar, it is a workout most people can repeat every day. Run your numbers.
A provider signs off.
The IRS allows exercise equipment as a medical expense when a licensed provider confirms it treats or prevents a condition. Truemed's survey and Letter of Medical Necessity are what make the purchase compliant.

Who is Truemed?
Truemed works with licensed providers to make exercise and wellness purchases HSA/FSA eligible. They run the health survey, issue the Letter of Medical Necessity and handle compliance. HSA/FSA payments at Ruckercise are powered by Truemed and offered through Shop at checkout, with no additional cost to you.
